4-H has the opportunity to get a specialty license plate in Illinois. It has been approved by the Illinois general assembly and the governor. Now, it needs community support-specifically from Illinois drivers.
In order for the Secretary of State to begin production of a 4-H Specialty License plate, 1,500 Illinois drivers (who have a current license plate on file with the Illinois Secretary of State) need to show financial support. This donation helps make 4-H license plates a reality and future revenue stream for 4-H youth in Illinois.
To show your support:
1. Fill out a form with your license plate number, your contact information, and your county and club affiliation specified for the club challenge.
2. Include a check for $25 made out to "Illinois Secretary of State" (while non-refundable and non-tax-deductible, it will go to the Illinois 4-H Program).
3. Mail to: Illinois 4-H Foundation, 1401 South Maryland Drive, 106 Taft House, Urbana, IL 61801.
Just to clarify, those who show support are not committing to buy the license plate. Once 1,500 people have shown their support in this manner, the design will be finalized and production can begin.
